The story of Italians arriving in Toronto is
usually thought of as having occurred after WWII. However many Italians arrived earlier then this and took up work as labourers,
peddlers, or shopkeepers. They settled around areas where they could find work in “foreign quarters” with its
remembrances, both deliberate and unconscious of the old country. We will visit the Ward where the first Italians settle and
travel over to where Little Italy is today. This Toronto Walking Tour last two hours. Meet at the northeast corner of Bay
and Queen. Cost $25 per person.
