Today we travelled north to the Polo Club at Boca to visit my friend Syd Steiner. This is one of the premier gated communities in Florida. It has clusters or neighbourhoods with maybe 20 to 30 homes in each. They are based on a basic design and then played with. There was 20 such neighbours with beautiful plantings throughout.  A golf course winds its way through the entire complex. Also dirt trails also wind where the horses from the actual Polo Club trot daily. Yes they actually play Polo here.

We had lunch at the central focus of the Polo Club and enormous club house with tennis courts, card playing rooms, gym, spas, dinning and a newly reconstructed pool. Our host Syd was amiable and we caught up on old times. Elizabeth chimed in as well. After we left Syd we drove several of the streets in the neighbourhoods to enjoy the richness of this area.

That evening we had dinner two blocks away as usual at the Village Restaurant. The food once again was enormous. Towards the end of our meal we met an unusual man with an elongated beard. As you will see in the photographs in snaked around his neck and down the front of his body. The beard was wrapped around in a fine wire that allowed him to sculpt the entire length of his beard into the position he wanted. I introduced myself and asked if I could have a picture. He said yes. His name was Steven and a most pleasant individual. I wish I had some time to chat him up more. He was from San Francisco and when I asked him if his beard was a personal or professional component of his life he said both. He was the ringmaster of a circus and in my opinion probably a perfect one.

After we headed home but once again for our fix of puppy love we stopped by Diamonds and Puppies. The windows were full of puppies each one more endearing then the next. We wandered home on a most pleasant of nights and retired.
